Role of CT (computed tomography) in cardiovascular diseases

CT is often performed using a timed injection of Xray contrast to produce clear images of blood vessels and assoassoci pathologies
This is useful for imaging cardiac chambers, great vessels, pericardium, and mediastinal space and masses
Contrast scans r very useful for imaging aortic dissection, pulmonary arteries in PULMONARY EMBOLISM
